Oh dear, I’ve been tagged in a post by Kerry from Multiple Mummy to show the world where I blog, and to decide whether it’s saintly or slatternly. I decided to do an honest picture, so as you can see I haven’t tidied up for you!
I work from home and I’m ‘supposed’ to have an office. Before the boys were born I had a cosy office in our third bedroom overlooking the garden. The washing and general junk lived in the second bedroom, which doubled up as our guest bedroom.
When the boys arrived I moved into the bigger second bedroom. It’s now also the home of our enormous toy rotation boxes which stop the boys from getting bored. Perched along one wall is my giant desk and a huge white board that Husband kindly saved from a skip for me (I’m not proud – I LOVE IT as I’m a list freak so now I can keep giant lists). On the desk I have lots of books and magazines for inspiration. Creative people are known to be messy, so I must be particularly creative. To the other side of the room is a comfy leather sofa, so if I get bored with staring at my white board I could move over to the sofa with my laptop, if it wasn’t constantly stacked high with washing that needed to be put away.
If I’m being honest, I hate my workspace because it’s shared with the rest of the house. One day we’ll move; I dream of having an office in an outbuilding or in the attic, somewhere out of the way of our home life. When I finally get that space it will be mine and the only person allowed to use it as a dumping ground will be me. Until that day I’m stuck in here, surrounded by laundry and stuff I need to sell on eBay. I’m not really sure if my workspace is saintly or slatternly. Make up your own mind.
And yes, that is a bottle of beer next to a coffee mug. The benefits of working from home 😉
It’s tag time so here goes:
