When things go quiet, those of us with preschoolers know this usually means something naughty is going on. When this happens, I often find T1 sitting underneath the dining room table munching biscuits he’s stolen from the kitchen (by using the stool from his keyboard to reach high enough to grab the biscuit tin!) or find T2 at the dining room table playing with the glitter glue.
The other day, as I was clearing up the lunch things I started to get suspicious as I hadn’t heard voices for a whole two minutes. I found T2 walking around the house wearing Husband’s wellie boots and his Toy Story sunglasses. He was most pleased with himself. T1 was rolling around on the floor attempting to get my pink flowery wellies on.
I couldn’t stop laughing as T2 tried to walk up and down the hallway in giant wellies that were as long as his legs. It was one of those very rare moments of quiet that turned out to be completely innocent. Apart from the trail of mud he left behind.

I always fear silence too- today I found Mads emptying out the contents of the wet clothes in the washing machine. And LL isn’t much better too, if she isn’t following me from room to room then she usually is up to no good! At least yours was innocent this time- very cute too! x

Ah washing machines and tumble dryers are the worst – my boys love switching plug switches so they’re always turning them off mid cycle! It drives me bonkers! x

ha ha he looks precious in those boots! Silence gives me a heart attack, it usually means a chair or stool has been dragged somewhere to do something you are not allowed to. Yesterday it was a chair on the bed pulling wall stickers off the wall!

What is it with pulling things and peeling things off? From being babies my boys have been obsessed with it too. When they were younger they pulled a big chunk of wallpaper off our living room wall, and they kept coming back to peel a bit more off for weeks! x

Oh yes, silence strikes fear in my heart! Today I was upstairs when E went quiet until she called for me and showed me how she’d covered the ‘mess with the flannel so it’s all ok mummy’, in other words she used my tea towel to put on the floor over the two broken eggs she’d dropped!!! xx
TalesofaTwinMum says
Haha brilliant, and so clever! At least she was being thoughtful by trying to clear up. xx

Oh, yes, the silence – it’s generally a bad thing! Love that photo though, that’s a lovely, quiet, moment 🙂 #TheOrdinaryMoments

Yes, I used to love silence, now I fear it! x

quiet in our house usually means something that shouldn’t be drawn on, is being drawn on! How are you hunney? x
TalesofaTwinMum says
Ah we have plenty of that too. When I was pregnant with E my boys tackled the sofas with a biro! I only realised something was wrong because they were being so quiet. Little monkeys. xx

Silence is definitely a cause for concern – in our house it usually involves glitter! I love the picture though, he must have been putting in some serious effort to get walking!
TalesofaTwinMum says
Oh glitter – now that fills me with dread! Glitter glue I can handle but so far I’ve managed to keep our house glitter free. I know if we had some the boys would constantly be covering the house in it! x

The danger of silence, I am beginning to know this feeling. Very cute picture, quite the trendsetter! x

It’s funny how you start to dread peace and quiet when you have young children! Even though it’s the one thing I crave! x
