The ordinary moments #4

08/09/2013 | posted under: Linkys, Guest Posts & Sponsored

Ranty Friday: Should you allow children to rule your life?
The 1st birthday: A year with our beautiful girl

My ordinary moment this week was from E’s first birthday on Wednesday. We had our fish and chip picnic on the beach while the boys were at preschool, and when they came home we had a little birthday tea with party hats, sausage rolls, little sandwiches and a huge chocolate cake.

She was most impressed when she was given crisps and sweet things to eat. The boys were super excited because we were having a party. And I was happy to have such a beautiful family.

It’s not a perfect picture. The background is cluttered with their huge toy rack. She’s not smiling. But it sums up that idea of a party which is all about cramming as much food as you can into your mouth.

She didn’t look this clean and tidy five minutes later though 🙂

Lovely article and then I followed the link to your daughters 1st birthday. What a lovely family you have and lucky E has 2 big brothers to look out for her! We also celebrated our daughters 1st birthday in July and her babyhood has gone so quick!

Thanks a lot! I hope they grow up to look after her rather than continue to try to sit on her (which they do a lot at the moment because they think it’s funny!) Thanks for popping over. xx

We just had cake for my daughter’s second birthday and I’m sure I have a nearly identical photo. But we forgot a cool party hat like your little one has! #ordinarymoments

Haha the hat only lasted about 10 seconds before she had it off and was trying to eat it! Thanks for stopping by. x

Yum! Fish and chip picnic on the beach? sounds delish, sounds like my kind of picnic!

Living so close to the beach – and to a fantastic, old-fashioned fish and chip shop – it would have been rude not to! Thanks for coming by. x

It seems birthdays were a feature in ordinary moments this week! I hope she had a great first birthday. x
