Top five bloggers: That make me laugh out loud

13/06/2016 | posted under: All Things Twins

Moving to Australia: There’s no place like home
A busy mum's guide to creating a thriving digital business (told in gory detail, step-by-step)

Following on from my recent post listing some of my favourite twin and triplet parent bloggers, it’s time to share my favourite funny parent bloggers.

I’m a sucker for blogs that make me laugh out loud – and if they involve toddlers (especially toddlers who throw tantrums because you dared to give them the exact cereal they asked for – which happens to me every. single. morning), even more so. Parenting is just hilarious and insane in equal measures. I swear if I didn’t laugh each time my son cries because his ice pole has melted or my daughter freaks out because she wants to leave the house wearing only a pair of tights then I am not sure I’d have survived this long. Blogs like these make me feel sane again in an insane world.

Top five funny bloggers

Hurrah for Gin. Katie writes one of my all time favourite blogs. I’ve followed it from the beginning and I can’t even begin to tell you what my favourite post is on her blog – there are just SO many. I can’t imagine you being able to read any post without tears pouring down your cheeks. Go on – I dare you to try. Just try not to be drinking coffee while you do. And even worse, make sure you aren’t drinking coffee while travelling on the train – her site should come with a snort warning. The talented lady is also the creator of Gin Bunny Prints too – so you can now send her unique humour in birthday cards too.

Brummy Mummy of 2 Brummy Mummy Emma has a son and daughter similar ages to my guys and she just tells it how it is perfectly. I love her talk about tantrums and the craziness of raising small people. Her weekly Wicked Wednesdays slot is hilarious and genius, and you need to follow her on Facebook for her regular updates that are just totally spot on usually involving epic tantrums, the crazy YouTube lady or fights over who gets the lie in on a weekend – or a combination of all of the above.

Sleep is for the Weak I was drawn to Emily-Jane’s blog when my daughter turned two and stopped sleeping. Up until then she’d slept through 12 hours a night from being just a few days old and all of a sudden I was being woken up many, many times each night (yes, I know I was smug for two years but I totally regret it all now!) I can’t remember how I discovered her blog but when I found it, it felt like I’d come to the right place.  Read her insanely helpful (i.e. hilarious) sleep advice on her blog and you’ll feel much better. And I LOVE that she has a shop selling Sleep is for the Weak goodies. I know that sleep deprivation won’t be around forever – one day my three will be teenagers that I have to drag out of bed. In the meantime there’s this blog to get me through.

Mum of Boys As a mum of two boys, I can totally relate to Louise. Her recent post about why the terrible twos are nothing compared with the frightening fours struck a real nerve with me (E is 3.5 and thankfully when she had an epic tantrum in a shoe shop the other day I could still pick her up and carry her to somewhere quiet to finish the tantrum – the boys on the other hand are 6.5 now and the most definitely can’t be picked up and carried when they’re mid strop!) As a travel writer and travel addict I also love reading about life in Dubai along with the baby and toddler mayhem. Her blog is the perfect combination of real family life with funny posts like things I will fight my brother for scattered in to keep you giggling.

Bunmi Laditan I follow Bunmi’s Facebook page and it is flippin’ hilarious. There’s not much else to say other than all exhausted mums should follow her. I haven’t read her books yet, but I really should as  The Honest Toddler: A Child’s Guide to Parenting and Toddlers Are A**holes (It’s Not Your Fault) sound right up my street.

So, there you have it – my favourite funny parent bloggers.

Who is your favourite?

Haha my boys are a bit insane but ironically it’s my 3yo singleton who almost breaks me – she’s the one who NEVER SLEEPS! Who is how I found your awesome blog. (Please tell me she will sleep one day?!)
